The course begins with an introduction to the concept of reuse analysis in vehicle development: while reusing components in development is intended to increase efficiency and reduce costs, the cybersecurity implications must be carefully considered
Modification of an item, component, or operational environment + Cybersecurity Implications
You will learn how to properly review changes to reused components. Once changes have been identified, the cybersecurity impact must be systematically re-evaluated - also with regard to cybersecurity claims and cybersecurity goals.
Importance of reuse analysis according to ISO/SAE 21434: How are cybersecurity impacts determined?
This section explains why reuse analysis is so critical to cybersecurity that it must be approached systematically and correctly. You will learn how improper reuse can compromise the security of the product and the organisation, and how ISO/SAE 21434 specifically defines reuse analysis as a requirement.
Identification of affected work products + activities to adapt changes
Based on the previous steps of the reuse analysis, the course shows how to identify the affected work products that may need to be adapted. Then the activities for the necessary changes need to be specified.
The Reuse Analysis Process in Four Steps
This section presents the steps of the analysis as defined by the ISO/SAE 21434 standard: identify modifications, assess cybersecurity implications, identify affected work products, and define activities to adapt to the changes.
